Omega Speedmaster Triple Date "Schuhmacher"

Omega Speedmaster Triple Date "Schuhmacher"
What are the coolest kinds of watches? Correct vintage watches! Especially vintage watches in an excellent condition.
This article is going to focus on the Speedmaster Triple Date nicknamed "Schuhmacher" from 1996.

Omega Speedmaster advertisement
So why is it nicknamed "Schuhmacher", well as seen in the ad above, the watch was posted with the famous Formula 1 racing driver Micheal Schuhmacher in 1996. At that time Schuhmacher was a Brand Ambassador for Omega, so chosing a Speedmaster seemed just right.

The watch you see in the pictures is, sadly not my own, but my uncle´s who owns a few very nice vintage timepieces. The grey dial of the watch has hour indices made from tritium, so on each watch the indices will change their color in a different way over the years, making the watch very unique.
At 9 o´clock the watch features the small seconds hand, as well as a 24 hour hand, which has a black and light-blue disc behind it.

At 12 o´clock you will find the 30-minute counter of the chronograph, as well as the written Date and Month. At 6 o´clock you can see the 12 hour counter. The set up of this chronograph is widely used in all kinds of different watches.
Extending from the center of the watch you´ll find the hour and minutes hands, as well as the chronograph seconds and date hand.

The Speedmaster is my absolute favorite Chronograph, yes you read that right the Daytona in my opinion is second to the Speedmaster (even though I own one).
I think that the achievements and history of the watch plus the different versions available, make it an extremely amazing and interesting timepiece for everyone.
The orange coloured hands of the chronograph are highly legible on the gray dial and the black and blue coloured disc of the 24 hour indicator make the watch look stunningly iconic.

On the wrist the Speedmaster has a formal apperance. At 39mm it is perfectly siezd for smaller wrists and people who prefer decently sized watches. As the timepiece is not to thick it will easily slip under the cuffs of your shirt, however buying is going to be rather difficult as not many of these in good condition are currently on and my uncle´s watch surely is never going to leave him.

I am posting this article as a kind of birthday present for the Omega account manager Mr. Rebbe, whom I met at the annual watch and jewelry exhibition at Jeweler Mauer and had a very interesting talk with regarding all kinds of different Omega watches which ever existed.
So this article is kind of a shoutout to this very interesting meeting and a way to show that an Omega timepiece is something you will keep for many years as it today is at least as stunning as on the day it was bought.
Happy Birthday ;)
